Everyone goes through similar stages of development. What is important is to recognise what these stages are so they can help us understand our behaviours and those around us. It is a useful method to explain present behaviours and the transitions to different behaviours. Erickson was able to identity 7 unique stages to this development and we can discuss them in detail. Children in particular exhibit transitions and actions that can be difficult to follow except when we discuss them in the context of these stages of development. This topic area is open to academics, students and members of the public who have assignments and concerns they want to discuss or a general interest and want to learn more.
